Polenta Dinner-Auction & Raffle
In February of each year the society celebrates the anniversary of our museum with a Polenta Dinner. This is the society’s main fund raiser and includes a complete dinner with wine and dessert (homemade biscotti!) We have a raffle with loads of prizes and a silent auction of great gifts including some of the region’s finest wines!
Windsor Historical Society Annual Meeting
In June of each year the society holds its annual meeting where we conduct the necessary business of the society and also incorporate “Volunteer Appreciation” into the meeting. We honor the Volunteer of the Year as well as give awards for historic preservation. There is no charge for this event and all members are welcome.
Hop Harvest & Heritage Day
In early September we invite the public to harvest our crop of Sonoma County Cascade Hops that we grow in our hop yard at the Museum. These are the hops that made Sonoma County famous and are propagated from 70+ year old bines plucked from the historic hop yards that dotted the Russian River valley. In addition to the harvest we sell a “Hop Camp Lunch”. We also exhibit many items that are too large to display in the museum during this event.
Annual Holiday Party
In December the Historical Society hosts a holiday party to give thanks to our community and share the holiday spirit. Light refreshments are served.
